Sutherlands Hut

Join us on a club ride through the Haurangi Forest Park. Starting on private land in a secure paddock on neighbouring land next to the track itself. Located before the "Pinnacles carpark" Tekopi and before the Hurupi "banana bridge", Cape Palliser Road. Look out for the QUADS sign.

We will meet at 8.30am in Featherston across the road from the pub next to the railway track. We will then head to Sutherlands Hut as a group. Please be on time. 

We will be riding from a private paddock, through forestry and woodlands to the Pinnacles Track and over to Sutherlands Hut with a couple of track variations that we have worked on recently. We will be travelling via the Widowmaker over high terrain before heading down to the hut. We will stop at the hut for lunch then either head along the gorge to the park entrance on the otherside of the park or look for further tracks on the way back to our start point.

All types of quads are welcome. Please consider conditions if you only have 2-wheel drive as the mountain may have snow on the summit or the track may be broken up this time of year, hence B/A ride grading.

Parking and unloading quads will be on private land so please park responsibly. Bring tow rope, first aid kit, pick or shovel, warm clothing, lunch & drinks.
