Waitotara

Summary

B Grade ride, all quads welcome. This is a weekend away on a ride located 49kms north of Waitotara. It goes without saying, this is another amazing excursion with 2 days worth of riding ahead.

Based north of Waitotara, we have two rides across the Saturday and the Sunday (1 RIDE PER DAY). The first ride is on Makowhai station and the 2nd ride is on the neighbouring station. In other words, 2 stations in one weekend. The station location is subject to change but the accommodation will be the same as last year.

1. Saturday full day 'Makowhai Station'
2. Sunday full day 'Neighbouring Station'

Accommodation is also provided at no extra cost on station, albeit for the first 12 members to book on the web site. You may also choose to camp or stay in your wagon. We will be staying with the vehicles on a secure station for the 2-day duration.

As per last year, we are inviting club members and affiliated club members (member's guests) only. Challenging and cruisey tracks with river crossings and great scenery could all be part of what we are covering, so you will need clothing for two days worth of riding (weather changeable).

The location is deep in the bush. In order to get there, you need to head to Waitotara and turn off state highway 3 before the Waitotara bridge that goes over the Waitotara river. You then head 49kms up the Waitotara Valley Road until you reach Ngamatapouri School where we will meet on the Saturday morning.

We will meet at the Ngamatapouri School on Saturday morning at 8.15am, therefore you may need to arrange your own accommodation on the Friday night in Whanganui or Waitotara or contact the ride organiser for alternatives (details below). A link to Ngamatapouri school:

This will be a weekend excursion with a 1 night stop over on the Saturday night with beds and great riding included. No food or drink is provided, but there are cooking facilities, albeit modest. Half of these fees go to the Ngamatapouri school and the Rescue Helicopter.
